We are excited to announce that we have raised a total of £30,000 for Hospitality Helps Prevent Breast Cancer. The donation is to fund the new Breast Imaging Academy at Wythenshawe Hospital.

£27,000 of the total raised has been match funded by The Big Give this therefore means that the final total that we have presented to Prevent Breast Cancer is £57,000.  This total couldn’t have been achieved without the support of  Permanently Unique Group, Gusto Restaurants, The Alchemist, Nightcap PLC and San Carlo who ran their own campaigns.

How was the money raised?

Each of the hospitality businesses tackled the challenge of raising money for the cause differently:-

Permanently Unique took a team and smashed the Three Peaks Challenge in June, climbing Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdonia in 24 hours.

The Alchemist in October added a discretionary 0.99p on every bill.  Also a team from their Head Office ran the Manchester Half Marathon .

Gusto Italian hosted Fabelou x a ladies night at their Alderley Edge restaurant.  The evening included a fashion show, an auction and a raffle.

San Carlo created the Cocktail Rosa. The cocktail was sold through the month of October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for each cocktail sold their was a £2 donation.

Nightcap PLC created the cocktail Rose Petal.  This was also sold throughout October and for each cocktail sold there was a donation to the campaign.

Each site that supported the initiative, including Seven Bro7hers, had branded posters created to put behind toilet doors.  This helped to raise Breast Cancer awareness amongst staff and customers.

To thank the business involved Prevent Breast Cancer delivered Breast Awareness training.

Viv Taylor Fletcher from Gusto restaurants said:

At the start of the year we attended a talk with other brands in our industry and to see how together we could make a difference in raising awareness and funds for Prevent Breast Cancer.  Instantly we knew it is something we wanted to be involved in.  We decided that we would like to host a fashion show in our Alderley Edge restaurant,  to raise money for this campaign and another charity close to our hearts Beechwood Cancer Support Centre. Working together we combined our efforts and raised £10K as well as awareness.  Together we can continue to make a meaningful impact in our community and inspire hope for a brighter future.  A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes to be auctioned off during the evening.’

We can’t thank everyone enough for getting involved with this campaign,  as well as everyone who sponsored teams, attended the fashion show, donated prizes, bought a cocktail or added a donation to their bill.

Together with hospitality businesses we are making a difference and helping more people to live well with cancer.
